Temperatures stayed at or above freezing for the night in Cartersville, but the temperature at 5 AM is now 30 degrees. Below freezing temperatures are expected in the area until 1 PM. Rain continues throughout much of Bartow County and is expected to be around until midnight. Suspect Arrested for Murder

The Cartersville Police Department has arrested Antavious Linley, 24, of Kingston for the death of 24-year-old Actavious Thompson on Monday morning. Thompson was killed by a gunshot would to the left temple at a residence at 21 MLK Drive on Saturday night. Cartersville Police make arrest in entering auto incidents

According to a press release from Chief Thomas Culpepper of the Cartersville Police Department, an arrest has been made regarding recent entering auto incidents in the Wellington Subdivision. Investigators with the Police Department arrested Rufus Travise Talmadge, age 17 of Cartersville, for two counts of entering autos, for thefts that occurred overnight during the period [read more...]

Escapee from Prisoner Transport arrested in Indiana.

Chief Thomas Culpepper of the Cartersville, Georgia Police Department has advised that Mr. Scott Killion, the escapee from last week’s prisoner transport, has been arrested without incident near Ellettsville, Indiana.  The agencies which were involved in the arrest were The U.S. Marshall’s Task Force, Indiana State Police, Indiana Department of Corrections, and DEA Task Force.  [read more...]
