Temperatures stayed at or above freezing for the night in Cartersville, but the temperature at 5 AM is now 30 degrees. Below freezing temperatures are expected in the area until 1 PM. A drive around Cartersville showed not evidence of ice, but still puddles on Etowah Drive, Old Mill Road, Erwin Street, Highway 41, Tennessee Street, Church Street and downtown. Bridges and overpasses are typically the first areas to freeze. Both South Bridge and the Church Street Bridge appeared to be ice free at 5 AM, but that could change. Bartow’s Morning News starts at 5:30 this morning with weather and road updates.
