Local Charged With Child Sex Crimes

Cartersville Police booked 64-year-old David Ignacio Rodriguez of Cartersville into the county jail on Monday night for two counts of cruelty to children in the first degree, two counts of child molestation, and two counts of sexual battery. There is no further information.

Adairsville Reports Minor Wastewater Spill

The City of Adairsville reports that a large amount of rain in a short time caused the North Wastewater Treatment Plant to be hydraulically overloaded and spill about 7,200 gallons of wastewater into an unnamed tributary that goes to Oothkalooga Creek on Friday afternoon at around 4:07.
