Bartow County deputies booked Clare Baggett of Cartersville into the jail on May 9th for multiple charges stemming from an accident that happened on April 13th. The accident occurred on Cartersville Highway north of Gordon McCormick Road outside of Taylorsville.
A Georgia State Patrol report states that Baggett was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla south on Cartersville Highway on the northbound side of the divided highway at around 8:15 that morning. The car swerved to its right towards the median and struck a guardrail with its right front.
Baggett was taken to Cartersville Medical Center for treatment. She has been charged with possession of a controlled substance in schedule two, possession of one ounce or less of marijuana, possession and use of drug related objects, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, failure to maintain lane, hit and run, striking a fixed object, reckless driving, and driving under the influence of drugs.
