Cheyenne Autumn Lavasseur

Rhonda Lynn Crosby

A Bartow County deputy was dispatched to a residence on Groovers Landing Road in Acworth on Tuesday night in reference to a complainant saying that her sister Cheyenne Lavasseur and mother Rhonda Crosby assaulted her.

She said during an argument over family issues, Cheyenne and Rhonda started hitting her. She said Cheyenne hit her in the face and broke a pair of eyeglasses she was wearing. She stated that both suspects struck her in the face several times and slammed her to the ground. She said both had their hands around her throat, but she was unable to tell who was choking her the hardest due to her about to pass out. A witness grabbed Cheyenne and broke up the fight.

The witness saw both suspects on top of the complainant. He said both suspects left with family members.

The deputy observed bruises on the complainant’s forehead, a swelling bruise under her left eye, fingermarks on both sides of her throat, and a pair of eyeglasses with one arm broken off.

The deputy relocated to the suspects’ residence on Shaw Street in Kingston and arrested them.

Cheyenne Lavasseur and Rhonda Crosby were charged with aggravated assault by strangulation and battery. Cheyenne Lavasseur received an additional charge for criminal trespass.
