The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Bartow County from tomorrow morning at ten o’clock to Wednesday morning at seven o’clock. This will affect much of north Georgia generally along and north of a line from Cedartown to Jasper to Hiawassee.

Snow is expected along with very cold wind chill values. Light snow will develop across northwest Georgia late tomorrow morning and spread across the rest of north Georgia tomorrow afternoon. Total snow amounts of around one inch with isolated higher amounts in the mountains are expected. Periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads, limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

The snow is expected to end tomorrow night, however strong northwest winds will be dropping wind chill values to dangerous levels. Wind chill values will drop to single digits Tuesday night and zero to five below after midnight. These wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.
