Bartow Sports Zone joins forces with WBHF
By: Charles Wilson
While there are still some details to be completed, WBHF Radio and Bartow Sports Zone will be combining forces to broadcast two live, local high school football games each week during the 2016 season.
WBHF Radio will continue to broadcast the Cartersville High School games over its air waves at AM1450 and 100.3FM.
Meanwhile, Bartow Sports Zone will provide live coverage of a Bartow County Game of the Week featuring Adairsville, Cass, or Woodland. The second live broadcast will be available through an online/internet broadcast that can be accessed with any internet or mobile device connection. A link for each county Game of the Week will be available on both the Bartow Sports Zone and WBHF web sites.
Plans also include live “look-ins” from reporters located at other games involving local teams.
WBHF in Cartersville has consistently been recognized for broadcast excellence by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters for local news coverage, local sports, and community service. The WBHF sports team was awarded the 2014 and 2016 GABBY for “Best Play-by-Play” for their coverage of high school football and baseball. On football Friday nights, WBHF already provides local and live coverage from 5:45pm until midnight. All games are broadcast on the radio, available via smart phone or computer, and on Comcast channel 23.
Bartow Sports Zone will now enhance that local coverage by giving fans a second live game with complete play-by-play coverage from kickoff to the final whistle. Through its weekly radio program and regular online updates on bartowsportszone.com, BSZ brings even greater in-depth coverage to the Cartersville and Bartow County community.
More information and a complete schedule of games to be broadcast will be announced soon and will available on the ‘Broadcast’ page of this site and on WBHF’s web site, wbhfradio.org.
