Emerson is one step closer to opening Webb Park.

At Monday night’s City Council meeting, City Manager Kevin McBurnett announced the official ribbon-cutting is tentatively set for 5 p.m. on November 9th. The park is named for longtime Council Member Terry Webb.

Council members also approved the second reading of an ordinance that repeals and replaces the park’s governing rules.

In other business, the council approved changes to the city’s zoning map. Assistant City Manager Todd Heath said the amendment makes slight zoning adjustments for utilities and cemeteries.

Council members also approved an alcohol license for LakePoint Sports for an upcoming Prep Baseball Report tournament.

The meeting ended with an executive session on an undisclosed legal matter.
