Bartow County deputies and EMS responded to a stabbing at 351 Oakridge Drive in Cartersville Tuesday night. The 46-year-old victim indicated that he and his son Jody Crumpton Junior of Dahlonega were arguing in reference to helping around the house because the dishes were dirty and the house was a mess. Jody took a knife and stabbed him. He stated that Jody may have fled to a mobile home park on West Rocky Street in White.
The investigation indicated that the victim had been involved with alcohol. The victim had a stab wound on his lower left abdominal area about an inch in length. He had difficulty breathing and intestinal evisceration. He was transported to Floyd Medical Center for further treatment.
Deputies canvassed the mobile home park and came across a witness who said she saw a white male in a brown passenger car spin gravel and leave at a high rate of speed. Deputies also observed blood on the steps, porch, and doorway of the lot where Crumpton was allegedly staying.
A warrant was secured for Jody Crumpton Junior for aggravated assault under the family violence act. He is a 23-year-old white male who is around five foot five and 118 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
