Someone allegedly tried to run over a Bartow County firefighter at an overturned vehicle wreck scene on Highway 113 just south of Brown Farm Road southwest of Cartersville on Sunday afternoon.
Georgia State Patrol was working on the accident, while Bartow County Fire was assisting with traffic control, as people were driving the wrong way around the accident.
A white Ford F-250 hauling a trailer entered the grass median, and the driver reportedly cussed out the firefighters while going around. One of the firefighters approached the passenger side to tell the driver to stop when the suspect turned his steering wheel toward him and accelerated, causing him to jump up against the fire truck to keep from getting struck.
A Polk County police officer went to the address listed on the truck’s registration that someone got from the license plate to talk with the individual. The man advised that an employee of his was driving the vehicle.
The case is under investigation.
