Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton confirmed with WBHF that 24-year-old Taylor Hammond and 14-month-old Lennon Hammond perished in a home fire early Sunday morning.
Cartersville Fire Battalion Chief Hagen Champion said that CFD and CPD units responded to 8 Oakdale Drive at 3:33 a.m. and got to a fully-involved home within five minutes.
After a search, they recovered two victims, whom they turned over to MetroEMS for medical treatment.
Bartow County fire assisted in the incident.
The cause is undetermined and will take about three to five days to determine.
A neighbor initiated the 911 call.
No firefighters were injured.
The house is a 75% loss.
