The Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Unit is investigating a traffic collision with injuries that occurred on Cobb Parkway at Creekside Village in the City of Acworth on Thursday at 12:16 p.m.

Per investigators, a red 2006 Mack dump truck, operated by 48-year-old James Brown of Cartersville, was traveling north on Cobb Parkway approaching Creekside Village Drive.

As the dump truck approached the intersection, the traffic signal changed to red and the truck failed to slow enough to stop before entering the intersection. After colliding with the curb, the truck rolled onto its left side.

A load of dirt in the dump truck collided with the left side of a silver Audi Q7 operated by 43-year-old Kimberly Lim of Kennesaw who was traveling east on Creekside Village Drive and stopped in the left turn lane at the intersection. The Audi was also occupied by 32-year-old Lindsey Mooney of Canton, 42-year-old Jessica Carter of Dallas, 49-year-old Stephanie Townsend of Cartersville, and 39-year-old Natalia Kinsey of Rome.

All five occupants of the Audi were transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with minor injuries. James Brown was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with visible injuries.

This collision remains under investigation and anyone with information is requested to contact the Cobb County Police Department at 770-499-3987.
