A train stuck a tractor trailer on the tracks on Riverside Drive in western Cartersville by the Cartersville West Industrial Park.

The low-speed collision knocked the truck into a nearby ditch. Bartow County EMS assessed the truck driver to find a possible fracture to the left leg just above the ankle. He was transported to Cartersville Medical Center for treatment. No other injuries were reported. The train was not derailed.

However, the BCSO has advised that everyone AVOID Highway 113 west of Cartersville until at least 5:15 Thursday afternoon due to current traffic congestion. HAZMAT crews are investigating the accident for possible leakage. This is affecting traffic flow on Highway 113. Again, they are asking you to avoid the area due to the public safety units working this accident.
