Cartersville High School administrators learned of a possible vaping incident Thursday morning. School officials searched the belongings of the students involved and found a pellet gun and a knife. Administrators quickly called an official from the Cartersville Police Department, who launched an investigation and took the students into custody.
School leaders did not start lockdown procedures because the incident remained isolated. Police and school officials will handle the matter under full legal and school disciplinary rules, since possessing a pellet gun or knife on school grounds violates the law.
School leaders take these situations very seriously and prioritize the security of the learning environment above all. The Cartersville School System appreciates your continued partnership.
