Republican incumbent Mitchell Scoggins won re-election to the Georgia House of Representatives from District 14.
Voters in the district, which includes portions of Bartow and Cherokee counties, returned Scoggins to the state House on Tuesday. With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Scoggins received 18,935 votes, or about 75.7 percent. Democratic challenger Bella Bautista received 6,076 votes, or about 24.3 percent.
Scoggins, a Republican who has held the seat since a 2018 special election, ran unopposed in the Republican primary earlier this year. Bautista won the Democratic primary without opposition. District 14 has leaned strongly Republican in recent cycles.
The race forms part of the full slate of Georgia House contests held Tuesday. Officials will continue canvassing and certifying results in the coming days. Scoggins will continue representing the district in the next legislative session.
