Bartow County deputies booked 50-year-old James Burton Crawford from Woodstock into the jail on Wednesday afternoon on 40 warrants for unlawful surveillance, which invades another person’s privacy. These warrants stem from incidents between June 2nd, 2023, and August 26th, 2023.
On October 9th, 2023, a detective with the Adairsville Police Department met with a complainant regarding a video camera found in a restroom at a Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service satellite office located at 14 Legacy Way, west of Joe Frank Harris Parkway. Three days prior, a part-time paramedic had noticed a clock sitting on a shelf in the restroom. Upon inspecting the clock, the victim discovered a slot for an SD card and the camera mounted on the front.
After removing and examining the clock, the complainant withdrew the SD card and turned off the camera. The company’s CEO had directed the IT head to examine the SD card for ownership information. During this investigation, they allegedly found footage of Crawford, a paramedic with Metro, moving the camera from a corner shelf, placing it on the toilet paper holder, adjusting it, and returning it to the shelf.
James Crawford is out of the Bartow County Jail after posting a $50,000 bond.
