Bartow County deputies have arrested 39-year-old Joshua Wayne Galles at his home on CCC Road late Friday night, August 1st, after he allegedly choked his ex-girlfriend before slamming her head against the roof of her car multiple times, causing visible injuries.
According to the victim, she had contacted Galles to pick up some mail. However, upon her arrival, he was allegedly intoxicated and hostile toward her before the physical incident.
As she attempted to leave the property, Galles reportedly prevented her from doing so by physically opening her car door forcefully, rendering it inoperable. She managed to escape and relocated to a nearby location where emergency services attended to her injuries, including one to her head that required three stitches.
As a result of the encounter, Galles is facing charges for aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, battery, and false imprisonment.
Later that night, patrol units located Joshua Galles at an IHOP restaurant on Cassville White Road and took him into custody.
