Bartow County deputies arrested 52-year-old Joe Allen Davis Junior at his residence on Graystone Lane late Saturday night after he allegedly choked his ex-wife, punched her multiple times, and caused significant injuries, including bruising on her neck and an active bleeding wound on her forehead. Additionally, she claimed that her dentures were broken during the altercation, leading to damages estimated at $3,000.
According to Davis, his ex-wife had come to the residence demanding entry and struck him in the face with her cell phone, causing a knot and bruising above his left eye.
His ex-wife alleged that she was already in the house when he arrived and head-butted her before dragging her through the house because he couldn’t get in because a chain was locking the door.
Joe Davis faces charges of aggravated assault resulting in strangulation, criminal damage to property in the second degree, and battery.
He left the jail on a $11,500 bond on Monday afternoon before ending up back there Monday night on an aggravated stalking charge.
