Daryl Scot Thurman

A 1998 Ford Mustang reportedly accelerated suddenly towards two Cartersville police officers at the scene of a cardiac arrest at a location on South Tennessee Street on Tuesday night.

One of them purportedly jumped out of the way, while the second was struck in the shins before he could fully move out of the way. He was not seriously injured.

The Mustang allegedly continued towards another officer before coming to an abrupt stop.

55-year-old Daryl Scot Thurman of Cartersville reputedly got out of the car and then attempted to access the cardiac arrest victim.

After reported resistance, officers arrested Thurman.

He received charges for two counts of aggravated assault, one count of simple battery, and six counts of obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers.
