On Wednesday March 30th, the Cartersville Police Department responded to the area of I-75 near mile marker 287 in reference to a traffic fatality involving a pedestrian. Today, positive confirmation through GBI investigation of dental records was received identifying the female found at the scene as Ms. Sheila McAlexander. The family members of Ms. McAlexander have already been contacted and made aware.
The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is still ongoing. The Cartersville Police Department offer the McAlexander family condolences in this difficult time.
