According to Francys Romero of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, the Milwaukee Brewers are calling up former Cartersville Purple Hurricane Anthony Seigler to the major leagues. The 26-year-old has played various positions this season for the Triple-A Nashville Sounds, making appearances at catcher, second base, and third base.
Seigler signed a minor league deal with the Brewers during the offseason, initially with low expectations after struggling to make an impact with the Yankees following his selection as the 23rd overall pick in the 2018 draft. However, he has excelled in the minors this year, boasting a batting average of .278, seven home runs, 43 runs scored, and 20 stolen bases over 62 games. He will likely serve as a utility player for the Brewers, and his versatility provides him with ample opportunities to earn a spot in the lineup.
The Brewers have a day off today before starting a three-game series at the New York Mets tomorrow at 7:10 PM.
