A tractor-trailer fire caused emergency personnel to shut down the right two lanes of I-75 northbound just past exit 306 in Adairsville for about 2.5 hours late Wednesday morning.
The fire quickly spread to the shoulder of the road and the median.
Bartow County Fire & Emergency Services had two engines, a squad, and a Battalion Chief respond. Gordon County responded with a fire engine, brush truck, Battalion Chief, and a tanker truck for water supply.
There were no injuries.
Crews shut down I-75 northbound due to the fire hazard. Due to heavy smoke conditions, law enforcement provided additional traffic control for the southbound side.
Authorities reopened the lanes at around 1:00 on Wednesday afternoon.
