A deadly multi-vehicle crash occurred on U.S. Highway 411 in Bartow County Sunday morning, claiming the life of a 24-year-old Cartersville woman.

Georgia State Patrol troopers responded to the scene east of Hamilton Crossing Road at 10:31 a.m. on May 24th.

According to the preliminary investigation, a black Dodge Durango traveled east in the left lane when its driver failed to maintain her lane. The Durango struck a gray GMC Acadia traveling east in the right lane. The Durango then crossed through the median, rotated, and collided with two westbound vehicles.

The Durango first hit a white Ford Mustang in the left westbound lane, then continued rotating and struck a white Toyota Land Cruiser in the right westbound lane. The Durango overturned onto its passenger side.

The driver of the Durango, 24-year-old Cynthia Moore of Cartersville, died at the scene from her injuries. Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton confirmed her identity.

Paramedics transported the driver and passenger in the Toyota Land Cruiser to a local hospital for minor injuries. Investigators reported no injuries for the other vehicles involved.

Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
