An accident involving a car and a semi-trailer truck occurred on I-75 northbound just north of exit 290 at around 8:30 Thursday night. Bartow County EMS had numerous units respond due to there being three patients.

The crews arrived to find a female patient with shoulder pain. She was transported to Cartersville Medical Center.

The second patient was a male who was found to have an altered level of consciousness. Bartow County EMS requested a medical helicopter respond for transport to a trauma center.

The third patient was a male who was entrapped in the car and needed to be extricated. He was complaining of no feeling from the waist down and numbness to his hands. Bartow County EMS requested a second medical helicopter to be en route for him. He was also transported to a trauma center.

This accident caused the closure of I-75 northbound at exit 290 for a couple of hours. I-75 southbound at exit 293 had to be shut down when the medical helicopters had to land.
