A 34-year-old man drowned on Lake Allatoona Sunday afternoon in the Flamingo Cove area.
Bartow County Fire Chief and EMA Director Dwayne Jamison told us dispatch sent fireboats and DNR rangers about a missing person. They successfully retrieved the body.
Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton reported the man was David Gurley of Armuchee.
Jamison said people saw the man swimming, go under, and not surface. We will update the story as soon as we learn more.
