Cartersville Police has released more information on the Sunday arrests of cousins Anthony and Rufus Talmadge of Cartersville for aggravated assault, aggravated battery, armed robbery, and possession of a weapon while trying to commit crimes. A complainant stated that Anthony sent him a snapchat message Saturday night asking for a ride due to an emergency and to pick him up at the backside of the Hannah Apartments on Old Mill Road.

The complainant and a second person arrived and found Anthony, Rufus, and three other unidentified black male subjects there. Anthony said to wait while he got something. He came back with a semi-automatic handgun, struck a victim in the face with it, jumped on the victim, and struck him again. Anthony took his wallet and i-Phone, held the gun to the victim’s head, and demanded he provide the passcode.

As this was going on, a black male who is around six foot one and 190 pounds wearing a red shirt and mask and holding a black semi-automatic handgun struck the victim’s companion and took his wallet. Another suspect went through that person’s vehicle and stole his i-Phone.

The victims were able to get to their feet and leave in their vehicle. Again, both Anthony and Rufus Talmadge were arrested later Sunday. The investigation is ongoing.
