A major crash shut down Interstate 75 North in Emerson early Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at the Red Top Mountain Road exit, near mile marker 285.
According to Emerson Police, a blue 2020 Mack tractor-trailer had pulled onto the right shoulder so the driver could use the restroom inside the cab. When the driver attempted to merge back into traffic, the truck collided with a gray 2002 Toyota Camry traveling north in the right lane.
The Camry driver told investigators he was driving in the right lane when the Mack truck suddenly moved into his path. The Camry struck the rear bumper of the tractor-trailer and then overturned in the middle lane.
Bartow County EMS checked the Camry driver at the scene. He suffered bruises on his forehead and arms but refused medical treatment and was released.
The Mack truck driver reported no injuries or complaints.
Officers cited the Mack truck driver for improper or erratic lane change.
Crews removed the damaged Toyota Camry by tow truck, while the Mack truck driver moved her vehicle from the scene.
