Hiram struck first on Friday night in Paulding County with a 1-yard touchdown run from Marcel Murray. After stopping Cass on a 4th down the Hornets got the ball back on their own 20-yard line. Hiram would again give the ball to Marcel Murray for a 75-yard touchdown run to put Hiram up 14-0.

Cass was building momentum late in the second quarter, but couldn’t put points on the board as they turned the ball over on down. Hiram led 14-0 going into halftime.

The 3rd quarter was a punting contest between the two teams as neither could move the ball. After recovering a Hiram fumble on the Hornets 10 yard line the Colonels again were pushed out of the red zone and came up short again on a 4th down attempt.

With 6 minutes to go in the game, Cass made it a 14-7 game with a 65-yard touchdown pass from Rett Moore to Malik Grimes. That was all the scoring the Colonels would do on the night as they fall to 0-3 (0-2) in region play.

Cass will be back in action next Friday at Kell 1-3 (1-1) in Marietta.
