The Cartersville School Board of Education has earned the highest honor a Georgia school board can receive. The Georgia School Boards Association just named Cartersville’s board a 2025 Exemplary Board, the top level in GSBA’s statewide recognition program.
This prestigious award highlights the board’s strong focus on effective governance, continuous improvement, transparency, and teamwork, all aimed at building stronger schools and giving every student in the district the best possible opportunities.
Cartersville City Schools Superintendent Dr. Marc Feuerbach says the recognition reflects the board’s hard work and dedication. He said, quote, “They are committed to making decisions that strengthen our schools, support our staff, and prepare our students for success.”
To earn Exemplary status, the Cartersville School Board met and exceeded demanding standards set by the Georgia School Boards Association. Those standards make sure local boards deliver outstanding leadership and accountability to their communities.
The GSBA program, launched back in 1998, was one of the first in the nation to create clear, measurable goals for school boards. It offers three levels of recognition: Quality, Distinguished, and the highest, Exemplary.
Being named an Exemplary Board puts Cartersville at the very top of school governance in Georgia this year.
