Cartersville police are searching for a suspect after a man was stabbed outside The Local Bar and Grill early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the bar at 120 South Erwin Street around 12:18 a.m. on May 10 after receiving reports of a disturbance involving a knife. Upon arrival, they found the victim lying in a parking lot across the street with multiple stab wounds. Bystanders were already applying pressure to his injuries.

Witnesses told police the suspect, 24-year-old Jeremiah Keith Lambert, had been kicked out of the bar moments earlier after becoming rowdy and confrontational. Bartenders described Lambert as intoxicated, hostile, and using racial slurs. He reportedly threatened to “flip” a bartender and made statements about bringing a gun, prompting staff to lock the doors and close the blinds.

According to the police report, after Lambert left the bar, the victim tried to de-escalate the situation in the parking lot. Witnesses say Lambert pulled a knife, stabbed the victim in the neck, upper shoulder, lower back, and right arm, then fled the scene in a white 2015 Honda Civic with Texas license plates.

The victim remained alert and conscious. EMS transported him to Piedmont Cartersville in stable condition.

Several officers pursued the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Lambert was not inside, but three females were. Officers turned the investigation over to the Criminal Investigations Division.

Witnesses describe Lambert as a white male with short hair, a long red beard, and tattoos, last seen wearing a white shirt.

Lambert has a prior criminal history in Bartow County that includes previous aggravated assault charges. In 2024, authorities charged him in connection with shootings investigated on Lee and Walker Streets.

The Cartersville Police Department asks anyone with information about Lambert’s whereabouts to contact them.
