The Cartersville Police department reported an officer-involved shooting Friday morning.
At approximately 12:02, officers with the Cartersville Police Department attempted to serve a warrant outside the convenience store behind the Shell gas pumps at 1338 East Main Street near I-75 on an individual in his SUV.
Upon making contact, the male purportedly refused to exit the SUV and allegedly attempted to run over an officer with the vehicle. Two officers reportedly fired into the SUV, striking the suspect with non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency personnel took the suspect to Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center. Neither officer was injured.
Cartersville PD has turned the case and investigation over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
