A 33-year-old Cartersville man died Saturday after a two-vehicle crash on East Valley Road in Bartow County.
Georgia State Patrol troopers from Post 3 in Cartersville responded to the crash just after 12:30 p.m. near Cherokee Hills Drive. Samuel Massey was riding a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on East Valley Road when a 2025 Honda Pilot pulled out from a private drive.
Troopers say the Honda’s driver, 49-year-old Charla Ray of Adairsville, failed to yield while turning left onto the roadway and entered the motorcycle’s path. The motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the Honda.
Massey was taken to Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
The Special Collision Reconstruction Team is assisting Georgia State Patrol with the ongoing investigation.
