Bartow County deputies are actively investigating a home invasion incident which allegedly occurred at a residence on Dogwood Drive in Cartersville Sunday night.

The resident stated that a suspect that had moved out the day before showed up with two suspects and attempted to enter the residence. When he said no, two of the suspects broke into the residence and began beating him with a golf club and a baseball bat. The victim was able to get the golf club and knock one of them unconscious.

The resident then stated that he chased a suspect into the back bedroom, but was locked out while the suspect dropped her children out the back window, ran out of the residence, put her children in a vehicle, and drove off.

Deputies observed fresh broken glass in the middle of the road in front of the residence with a neighbor’s mailbox broken in half. The neighbor told deputies that there was much more to the story, but did not want to divulge any additional information.

When deputies found and spoke with the main suspect, she said she returned to the residence to retrieve a breathing machine when the resident closed the door on her arm. That’s when one of her friends forced the door open and began to fight with the resident.

Another suspect interviewed had multiple scratches and a large knot on his head as well as cuts on both arms and a knee. However, he appeared to be under the influence of an unknown narcotic.

The case has been left active for review due to the alleged victims possibly concealing information and the fact that no one involved in the incident called 911.
