Chief Thomas Culpepper of the Cartersville Police Department has advised that two arrests have been made in connection with multiple entering auto crimes and vehicle thefts in the Cartersville area. According to Chief Culpepper, the suspects arrested are part of a larger theft ring which has been targeting unlocked vehicles in subdivisions throughout Bartow County. These thefts have occurred in the Liberty Square, Eagle Glen, Timberlake Cove and the High Point subdivisions, as well as numerous thefts which have occurred in the area of South Bartow Street and Georgia Boulevard. The Cartersville Police Department and the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office worked together in the investigation of these crimes.

19-year-old Malik Goggins of Cartersville has been arrested and charged with 15 counts of entering autos and has been charged in connection with 3 stolen vehicles.

18-year-old Jaquez Cole of Cartersville has been arrested and charged with 17 counts of entering autos and has been charged in connection with 3 stolen vehicles and 2 counts of theft by receiving stolen property.

This investigation is on-going and more arrests are expected.
