On the afternoon of July 22nd at approximately 1:45, Bartow County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Cartersville Medical Center in reference to an adult female who reported she was assaulted and abducted by her ex-boyfriend.
According to the 21-year-old victim, at approximately 2:00 that morning, she had just gotten off work and went to a friend’s residence on Hwy 20 in Cartersville. The victim advised while she was still inside her vehicle at her friend’s residence, her ex-boyfriend, Dwayne Arnold, blocked her vehicle in the driveway with his vehicle. Arnold approached the victim’s vehicle on the driver’s side, punched her in the jaw, and forced her to get into the passenger seat. The victim was punched several more times while Arnold drove her to the Motel 6 on State Route 20 in Cartersville. The victim was then raped and assaulted while at the Motel 6.
25-year-old Dwayne Tyrone Arnold of Cartersville was arrested on Wednesday night on a traffic stop by the Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force. Arnold is currently in custody at the Bartow County Sherriff’s Office Adult Detention Center pending a Bartow County Superior Court Bond Hearing.
Arnold is charged with Aggravated Battery, Terroristic Threats and Acts, Aggravated Sodomy, Kidnapping, and Rape all under the Family Violence Act.
