Jaiden Andrew Walraven

Bartow County deputies arrested 21-year-old Jaiden Andrew Walraven of Bartow County on Monday evening after he allegedly assaulted a woman at Massage Time Body and Foot on South Gilmer Street between East Cherokee Street and East Main Street in Cartersville.

Around 4:55 PM, Cartersville police officers responded to a report of an assault. The victim, who does not speak English, told police through a witness that Walraven entered the business, asked her to a massage room, produced a knife, and ordered her not to talk. He tried to lock the door—though the doors have no locks—then grabbed her as she reached for the handle. The knife cut her hand during the struggle.

The witness opened the door, allowing the victim to flee to the street. Security video shows Walraven running after her and escaping in a tan-like four-door sedan. The victim and witness provided the last three digits of the tag.

A nearby business had warned the witness about a similar man, including a phone number linked to Walraven. Police located a gray 2013 Chrysler 200 matching the description via Flock cameras registered to someone with Walraven’s last name. The phone number traced to him, and his ID photo matched the suspect on video.

A BOLO was issued, and a phone ping helped locate Walraven. Around 5:54 PM, a Bartow County deputy stopped him on Hardin Bridge Road near Euharlee Road, confirmed his identity, and arrested him during a felony traffic stop. Deputies found a knife in the vehicle, but it showed no visible blood.

Walraven faces warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping, plus an earlier armed robbery charge from about an hour prior.
