Bartow County deputies arrested 27-year-old Andrew Kiah Bryson of Cartersville in the Ackerman Road neighborhood east of Emerson on Saturday night after his alleged involvement in a violent physical altercation with a person whom he had a court-mandated “no contact order” from due to an aggravated assault with a knife charge from February 28th.

The victim stated that she learned Andrew was inside when she was about to enter her residence, so she turned around to leave. Andrew allegedly saw her and gave chase. She reportedly entered the neighbor’s residence across the street, went out the back door, and entered a vehicle. However, Andrew allegedly grabbed her ankle and began pulling her out, causing a small scratch.

When he couldn’t get her out, Andrew allegedly got in and stated he was going to shoot her if she didn’t stay with him and that his family would do worse things to her if he went to jail.

Deputies arrived at the vehicle before anything worse happened. The victim stated that while she didn’t see it, she knew Andrew carried a black Smith and Wesson nine-millimeter pistol. Upon a search, a deputy located that gun under a pillow in the back seat where Andrew was sitting when law enforcement arrived.

Andrew told deputies he believed that the victim stole his phone while he was asleep in a hammock behind a shop he was working at an adjoining lot. Therefore, he followed her to the vehicle and rummaged through it but never tried to pull her out or threatened her.

Andrew Kiah Bryson received charges for aggravated assault involving the use of a firearm, simple battery, aggravated stalking, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.
