The Woodland Wildcats (1-3) fell to the Pepperell Dragons on Friday night by a score of 28-0.

This makes back-to-back games for the Wildcats that many felt would be wins that ended up in the loss column.

Pepperell’s Gage Owens scored a 19-yard rushing touchdown early in the first quarter, but some brutal punches were thrown in the second quarter. DeMarcus Ragland scored on a 46-yard pick-six, while DJ Rogers had a 19-yard rushing score of his own. Rogers would add a 68-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to effectively put the game away.

Woodland punted on four of its five first half possessions, with the other being an interception. The Wildcats also committed 10 first half penalties, which gifted Pepperell 110 yards. Conversely, the Dragons had three penalties for 35 yards. Hurting Woodland in the contest was the fact that Breelace Williams seemed to be hurt throughout the game.

Woodland is off next week, but will travel to Osborne on September 23rd for a 7:30 PM kickoff.
