The Woodland Wildcats (0-1) battled the East Paulding Raiders (1-0) on Friday night but fell 38-13.

Jalen Porter scored twice for East Paulding with both coming in the first half. The Raiders threw two touchdown passes in the second as Baylor Thomason connected with Cameron Shelly for a 9-yard score, and Chantz Bouknight hit Kenechi Oluku for a 38-yard touchdown pass.

Woodland quarterback Breelace Williams was sacked multiple times in the contest as the offensive line struggled in the 2022 opener. Isaiah Livsey had several strong runs including a 10-yard touchdown run. Kwadrus Wilson also scored on a 55-yard fumble return. Both Woodland scores occurred in the fourth quarter.

Woodland hits the road next week as it takes on Coosa at 7:30 PM.
