Desiree Jean Womble
Tristan James Mills

A Bartow County Fire Department Sergeant was traveling north on Glade Road in Acworth on Sunday morning, when she saw 21-year-old Desiree Jean Womble of Kennesaw strike 22-year-old Tristan James Mills of Kennesaw in the back of the head with a large rock. Sergeant Amy Dies observed Mills fall to the ground and she stopped to render aid.

Womble told a Bartow County deputy that she and Mills got into a verbal argument in a room at America’s Best Value Inn in which she threw a hamburger at Mills. Womble said Mills then grabbed her head, slammed it into a wall, and tried to choke her. She said she grabbed Mills and then he bit her nose very hard. Womble then said she bit Mills on the inside of his left arm. Both then let go of each other.

Womble then said Mills slapped her phone out of her hand when she tried to call 911. She left the room, returned a few moments later, then retrieved her phone to call 911. When she was on the phone, Mills left the hotel. Womble then admitted to following Mills and hitting him in the back of the head with a large rock.

Mills told a Bartow County deputy that they had a verbal altercation, Womble became angry, and she began attacking him. He said he was only physical with her when he attempted to get her off of him.

Womble and Mills were transported to Cartersville Medical Center for treatment. Due to the physical evidence observed of their injuries, warrants were taken on both individuals.

Desiree Womble was placed under arrest for family violence simple assault, aggravated assault, and family violence battery as well as an outstanding warrant through Cobb County for violation of probation.

Tristan Mills was placed under arrest for two counts of family violence battery and one count of obstructing or hindering a person making an emergency telephone call.
