A woman charged in the death of her two-year-old son was sentenced in Bartow Superior Court Tuesday. Thirty-three year old, Bobbie Jessica Prather entered a guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter, reckless conduct and three counts of cruelty to children. Prather received a 20-year sentence, she will serve two years incarcerated and the remainder on probation. Prather has been incarcerated in the Bartow County Jail since May 29, 2017. She will receive credit for time served. Her attorney requested that Prather be allowed to serve the remainder of her sentence in the Bartow County Jail. Judge Suzanne Smith denied that request saying Prather would be sent to the state penitentiary. Her son, two-year-old Jagger Reese Settles died May 29, 2017, at his home on Canter Lane. The toddler’s body was found unresponsive in the family’s above ground swimming pool. Prather left the two-year-old and three other children unattended for 14 hours.
