A Bartow County deputy arrested 35-year-old Tonya Lynn Casey at her residence on School Street near Kingston Friday night for battery against a person who is 65 years of age or older, cruelty to a child in the third degree, and exploitation and intimidation of an elder person.
Casey is accused of holding down her grandmother and hitting her with a juvenile witnessing it.
Her grandmother reportedly has Alzheimer’s disease.
The complainant stated she observed the grandmother the day before covered in urine and fecal matter because Casey, who is reportedly her full-time caregiver, hadn’t bathed her in six days.
The responding deputy observed two large bruises and a cut on her arms, a slight red mark on the right side of her face, and a busted blood vessel in her right eye.
