CARTERSVILLE, Ga. Here’s some good news for motorists on Georgia Highway 140 in Bartow County. The one-mile project of widening and reconstruction on State Route (SR) 140 from Oothkalooga Creek to US 41/SR 3 has been completed and all lane of the highway will be opened to traffic on Monday, August 27, 2018, weather ;permitting.

This widening and reconstruction project on SR 140 also included the construction of two bridges and their approaches over Oothkalooga Creek. This project has been under construction since early July 2015.

“Although some minor work remains to be done, this construction project is completed for all practical purposes, as far as the traveling public is concerned,” said Grant Waldrop, district engineer at the DOT office in Cartersville.  “We understand the inconvenience this project has caused the area residents and we are glad to finish our construction work and give the highway to the traveling public,” Waldrop explained.
