On October 14, 2022, at approximately 10:00 am, Acworth Police responded to 4920 Ivey Road, Acworth, GA in reference to a welfare check. Officers met with the caller and confirmed what appeared to be a deceased body. Officers found the body of 40 year old Amanda Sharpe.
It was determined the death of Amanda Sharpe occurred at 3027 N Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw and the body had been moved to the Ivey Road location or Ajax Construction site.
On October 15, 2022, Kennesaw Police Department took over the investigation and secured an arrest warrant for twenty-seven-year-old, Jake Stephen Schell. Schell was charged with Concealing the Death of Another, Tampering with Evidence, Financial Transaction Card Theft (x4), and multiple drug charges.
Schell was placed under arrest by detectives and is being held at Cobb County Adult Detention Center, without bond. He is address is listed as homeless in jail records.
The cause of death is undetermined, pending the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office investigation. This is an active investigation. If you have any information regarding this case, please contact Detective Amica at 770-429-4533.

“Amanda was loved and cared for. Please help us get justice for Amanda #justiceforamandasharpemitchell and help us raise money for her funeral expenses and for her son…she did not have life insurance and her family’s wish is to lay her peacefully to rest. I know we’re in hard times right now but anything can make a big difference!”
