The United States Army Corps of Engineers has announced some changes for the hunting program for the 2023/2024 season.
The announcement states for the 23/24 season USACE hunting permits will increase to $25 and will have an increased number of permits available at 500.
Permits are required for all hunters that are over the age of 16 and will require you to create an account on at www.recreation.gov. Every account will be limited to one permit with the permit holder being able to have one hunter that is under the age of 16 with them at any time, however that hunter must be under the direct supervision of the permit holder at all times.
You can find hunting area maps and a copy of the current hunting regulations on the USACE Allatoona website. The 500 permits will be granted on a first come first serve basis and will be issued until all of the available permits have been granted. The window to apply for a permit will open on Monday, May 1st.
You can find the link to apply for the permit on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Allatoona Lake Facebook page. You can also visit their website where you can find contact information if you have further questions about the permits.
