We now know more about a fatal accident that occurred Friday morning on Highway 41. According to reports from the Georgia State Patrol, the two-vehicle collision occurred at approximately 10:00 a.m.  Emergency responders were called to Highway 41 and South Bridge Drive. A black Honda Accord was traveling north on 41 in the left turn lane.  Meanwhile, a gold Ford Tempo was traveling south on 41 in the right lane. Troopers say that evidence showed that the black Honda Accord failed to yield while turning left. The Tempo struck the right side of the Accord with its front. The Tempo’s passenger died of injuries shortly after the crash. The driver of the Tempo, Anthony Upton, age 52 of Cartersville, was transported to Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Accord, Sharon Bryson, age 52 of Cartersville, was transported to Cartersville Medical Center with minor injuries. The Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is conducting a follow-up investigation. Charges are pending.
