The accident occurred around 4:51 a.m. A tractor trailer was traveling south on the GA 3 exit ramp, negotiating a right curve. The truck failed to maintain its lane and traveled off the left shoulder of the exit ramp, crossing GA 20 westbound and overturning on its driver side. The truck came to a final rest on its driver side on top of the guardrail in the grass median of GA 20. The driver, Octabius Ladonta Barkley, 33, of Atlanta was injured and airlifted to Grady Hospital. The passenger, Antonio Derrico, 49, of Rex was also injured and taken to Cartersville Medical Center by ground.
