Two Cartersville High School students have earned the privilege to attend Governors Honors Program this summer at Berry College! Paul Hyman will participate in the Social Studies program and Emma Wilson will take part in the Music (voice) studies.

Both Paul and Emma are dedicated students. Paul is enrolled in all honors and AP classes, and he has maintained a 4.0 unweighted GPA since freshman year. He’s involved in the Young Democrats Club, Chorus, Track and Field and Cross Country. He also works as a host at Table 20 and enjoys painting. Emma is very involved in the theatre community in Cartersville. She does yearly shows at The Grand Theatre and with Act 1 Company. She’s won Region Solo Literary for girls twice and went to state both years as well. On top of pursuing music and theatre, she has maintained a 3.5 GPA and is a member of Beta club.

The Georgia Governor’s Honors Program is a residential summer program for gifted and talented high school students who will be rising juniors and seniors during the program. The program offers instruction that is significantly different from the typical high school classroom and that is designed to provide students with academic, cultural, and social enrichment necessary to become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders.
