Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation crews will shift traffic on State Route 140 between Old Highway 140 and Big Ditch Road just west of Adairsville today through Friday from nine a.m. to five p.m. each day. Along with the traffic shift, crews will resurface and stripe the route. Please slow down and watch for workers in the area. The work is part of the SR 140 widening project, scheduled to be completed later this year.
Also, crews will shift traffic on Old Alabama Road tomorrow (April 3rd) to the newly constructed eastbound lanes starting at SR 61 and heading eastward toward Paga Mine Road. Crews will shift traffic signals at Carter Grove to accommodate the new alignment ahead of this time. Drivers in the area should take caution as the project moves into the next construction phase.
