Good morning! Happy Friday! It’s time for a Friday edition of Bartow’s Morning News, bringing you the best in news, weather, traffic and sports on your award-winning community radio station.
We have three guest segments today, including our Coaches Corner interview at 7:40AM. Football Head Coach Frank Barden of the Cartersville Purple Hurricanes will join us in studios to discuss last week’s victory over Ringgold by a score of 33-16 to end the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record. We will then discuss tonight’s first round of playoffs against West Hall. With Cartersville’s first seeding, they will host that game at Weinman Stadium. Pre-game show activities begin as early as 5:45PM with the SEC Sports Report and then our live full-county pregame show will broadcast from Scott’s Walk-Up BBQ from 6PM until 7PM. That will be followed by GNN’s top 10 games of the week, pre-game chatter with the guys calling the game and kickoff set for 7:30PM.
Then, at 7:50AM, Coach Vince Dooley, former head football coach of the Georgia Bulldogs and Athletic Director for the University of Georgia, will call into the show to discuss his appearance at the Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce’s quarterly luncheon on Monday at the Clarence Brown Conference Center.
And, in hour three, at 8:40AM, we’ll be joined by Trey Gaines, Director of the Bartow History Museum, to discuss Santa’s upcoming visit, along with other lectures and activites planned for the museum.
Tune in for Fox News at the top of each hour, state-wide headlines from GNN at the bottom of each hour, and local news, weather, traffic and sports in between. It’s all here on your award-winning AM 1450 WBHF.
